On the right is the Holiday Inn at Glasgow Airport, on the left is the Airport Terminal. Check in is a five minute walk from the hotel. |
I have made the mistake more than once, of getting in a taxi and assuming that driver would know how to find my hotel from the name of the hotel. I have been taken to the wrong hotel at least twice, I have had drivers google search for the hotel location, or call another driver for directions.
A simple solution, before you leave home, print out the address of the hotel in large type. On a recent trip with 6 different hotels, I created a stack of address sheets before we left home. It saved so much frustration. A simple solution to make travel just a little bit easier.
That's a good idea. Hotels here often change their names and it is hard to keep up, although I expect professional ride share and taxi drivers quickly know.
ReplyDeleteThe address is often hard to find on the reservation confirmation message. There are two Hampton Inns at SFO, I went to the wrong one. A London Black Cab driver couldn't find the Hilton Tower Bridge, he dropped me at the wrong hotel and I walked across the bridge and around the corner to the correct hotel.
DeleteGreat idea!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy did it take me so long to think of this?
DeleteI always make a hard copy of our itinerary. Yes, it's old school but it's come in handy quite a few times.
ReplyDeleteI always have printed copies when I leave home, you never know when, like on this last trip, your phone will die.

ReplyDeleteDarn typo!!!
DeleteNothing like a printed address to make sure you get to the right place.
I was suing Siri one time to find a location and it literally took me to the wrong place and I said to Siri: "This is not the place. You're &%$#ing stupid."
She said, "That's not nice."
I gave her the address again and two minutes later we were there.
Moral of the story: sometimes dropping a F-bomb helps?
Ms. Garmin in the expensive car seems to be developing dementia, telling us to turn left when we should turn right and such.
DeleteSuch a clever little bunny! 🥰
DeleteGreat idea. In 2016, I had a London cabbie take me to the wrong hotel. I know my way around London so I politely said, "this isn't it. It's just around the corner". He replied "Oh yes, you are right ma'm".
ReplyDeleteI thought London cab drivers were supposed to be the best in the world
