My Answers:
- Did you or are you planning for retirement? August 1, 2023, I have been saving since 1988.
- Did or does your work have a plan for who would carry on the work after you? Not a clue.
- Do you, or are you worried that you will miss work? The closer I get, the less I think about this, there will be some adjustments, but I think I will find things to fill my time.
- Do you, or do you plan to work part time after retirement? There are a few things I would like to do.
- Given the free time of retirement, what one thing do you want to do more of? Travel.

A lot of times doing something in retirement is about social contact.

I will blog someday about the job that told me I irreplaceable, it took them less than a week to hire my replacement.

DeleteDid you or are you planning for retirement? I retired (early) in 2008, partly due to health issues and partly due to a horrible boss who made my life a living hell the last five years I worked.
ReplyDeleteDid or does you work have a plan for who would carry on the work after you? I was a school librarian. They hired a replacement within a couple of weeks who would start in the fall.
Do you, or are you worried that you will miss work? I still miss it but I'm glad I'm not around to deal with helicopter parents who want instant gratification.

Given the free time of retirement, what one thing do you want to do more of? We wanted to travel, and we did for the first several years, but health issues have put a stop to that.
One of the reasons I have set the date I have, is to increase the odds that we can do some of the travel while it is easiest.

4. No working part-time. I'm done with the rat race.
5. I took up tai chi, art and bridge. Will do some traveling too.
