The year between moving to Kentucky and starting law school, I needed to something, I needed to work and pay taxes in the state so I would qualify for in-state tuition at a state university. I applied for a couple of jobs, and the first one that asked me if I could start with was a big department store, and I was assigned to the ladies shoe department. I spent 9 months selling ladies shoes. One of the first things I notice is footwear.
The rubber sandals, are a look I never quite understood, with socks even less so.
It is a look, but is it a good look?
Would you wear this?
HELL NO!!!!!!! Not a good look and I'd rather be shot before wearing that, that, look!!! Those are meant to be worn barefoot. When I see men wear socks with those, I want to rip them off and beat their ass with them. The only worst thing might be wearing socks with Cro…….Oh the horror...I can't even say the word...
ReplyDeletenow where are my smelling salts....
You just want to paddle him,
DeleteNo, I would not. I will only wear rubber flip-flops when at a swimming pool. And definitely never with socks.
ReplyDeleteBravo!
DeleteCertainly not. Wouldn't men's feet be so much more interesting. Oh my Sir, what large feet you have. Ah Sir, what small delicate feet you have.
ReplyDeleteLarge feet, large ---?
DeleteEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! no support and fugly to boot! gimme my clogs any day!
ReplyDeleteOr Crocks?
DeleteWHO SAID THE C WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteI'm feeling faint..........
git her fainting couch and smelling salts STAT!
DeleteThat's a no.
ReplyDeleteReally. And you should see how many people wear them. In the dead of winter. In Illinois.
I have no words.
XOXO
This was take last February, on a warmish afternoon.
DeleteI KNEW Maddie would have something to say about that. I must admit, I’ve done this... in the house... and it’s really comfortable. But never in public. I’m a slave to fashion... or, well, to Maddie’s opinion.
ReplyDeleteWe all wear things in private that we would never be found dead wearing in public. That would make another interesting blog post.
DeleteNo. I'm almost as angry about this as Maddie!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the wearer is looking for punishment.
DeleteI have worn this "look", still do, in the privacy of my home. I have neuropathy in my feet and hands. The "look" is accompanied by open fingered compression gloves. The shoes are easy to slip on and there is swelling room (we're talking feet, people!) and sometimes it is very hard to keep one's feet warm. Oo0h, look at me being all empathetic and stuff! Why Balder Half wears this crap with shorts is beyond me! He sometimes does that just to push my buttons. Not the good buttons, mind you. The 'You Are Not Wearing Those Things To The Movies With Me', buttons.
ReplyDeleteThere, I'm so glad I've come out of the ugly footwear with socks closet. It's so freeing! Maddie, please don't think less of me.
Duchess Deedles...... Never...ill just wear dark sunglasses like Anna Wintour so i don't see the faux pas...but i may have to take Balder Half under my wing for a few days.
DeleteComfort comes first at my age.
DeleteDarn.... Maddie is back so umm umm I uh would never wear crocs or those ugly rubber things, especially with socks, nope not me.
ReplyDeleteI will admit to owning a pair of crocks. But never to be worn with socks.
