Bars, Music, T-Shirt and Junk Stores, welcome to downtown Nashville. It is fun in the kitchy touristy kind of way, not unlike International Drive in Orlando, Bourbon Street in New Orleans, or Las Vegas Avenue. I find it fun for a short time. I have little desire for the mass produce junk that most of the shops sell. There are a few too many drunks on the sidewalk, and the music while sometimes fun, is generally to loud, and often to heterocentric for me to find it entertaining. I know there are gay men in Nashville, my ex's first ex lives there.
Glad I went - not in a hurry to go back.
What places leave you feeling that way?
Never been there and no real desire to change that.

ReplyDeleteMore stoned people in Seattle.
DeleteNew York and San Francisco come to mind. Way too many people.
ReplyDeleteThe things I have seen on the streets of San Francisco - and don't mean the TV show from 40 years ago.
DeleteNashville sounds hideous, if only for the music, like our smaller version in Tamworth. Actually we had a US visitor to Tamworth who was on the radio a couple of times and he was a real laugh. I found her name, Sunny Lee. Her accent is amazing and hard to believe people really speak like that.
ReplyDeleteWhile I love the old European capitals, to my surprise I did not really like Amsterdam much. It was so crowded and while I don't have anything against smoking, much of the time we walked on carpet of butts. And I have been there twice.
I have the same reaction to Amsterdam, I think you are the first person who agrees with me.
