The orbit around the sun is about 365 days - just a smidge over. So every 4th year we get an extra day, to keep pace with our place in the solar orbit in the right place. Enjoy your extra day this year. Find your place in the sun.
Fooled them this year, it falls on a weekend (yes, I know there is a flaw in the logic on that, but most people won't catch the flaw - another capitalist trick!)
Hide for a couple of weeks, and then the calendar will seem normal again. Also Daylight savings time is kicking in, just and extra way to mess with our brains.
It is a capitalist conspiracy to make people work an extra day every four years.

DeleteHI TRAVEL PENGUIN! where was this photo taken?
ReplyDeleteAn inlet on Lake Erie - last summer, I think . . . could be Florida or Kentucky
DeleteSo great to see you enjoying the sun. I had to do a double-take. Thought that anchor in lights in the background was something else entirely.
ReplyDeleteThat would be an entirely different kind of marine experience.
DeleteYay, the Penguin is back!!!! I love seeing him in locations.
ReplyDeleteHe needs to pop out of my bag more often
DeleteYou're so adorable when you give us the bird! I didn't notice the anchor until I read Scoot's comment. Now I'm strangely drawn to it.
ReplyDeleteAww! blush
DeleteI'm leaping about in the snow today!
ReplyDeleteNice at first, but the novelty wears off fast for me.
DeleteI leaped out of bed and went to vote!
ReplyDeleteI voted last weekend, I am going to be out of town on election day.
DeleteI thought my calendar was broken with February 29, even worse is tomorrow and Monday being the 30th and 31st.

DeleteI actually spent the day doing pleasant things - no chores! no work!
ReplyDeleteI hope to repeat this in another four years.
