The Saturday Morning Post: Keep Calm

The famous World War II British poster, Keep Calm and Carry On, was a failure in public opinion during the war and was withdrawn.  Only a handful survived, the success of it, happened decades after the war.

Christmas is only a week away, keep calm.  It will all be okay.  Being in the moment, is what really matters.  Don't worry about decorations, or gifts, or perfect food.  Relax and spend quality time with yourself, your loved ones. I was about 35 before I realized you could have a holiday without indigestion.  Less stress = more enjoyment.

I love the glitter, music and smells of the season.  But I am not going to stress myself about it.

  1. Wise advice. It is strange how Keep Calm and Carry On, with various variations came to light and favour a few years ago.

    1. Lucy Worsley did a nice history on it for the BBC recently, we trust her.

  2. I love the idea of Christmas, but when the idea became "How much do you spend?" and "How many gifts do you buy?" and "What are you getting" I lost interest. We keep it simple and family at Christmas and it stays very peace-filled..

  3. I'm with you! Now that I don't decorate as much and I have to shop less, it's a lot more relaxing and fun.

    1. Having just returned from an adventure, I am not sure we are going to venture to the storage room for decorations. We shop along the year.

  5. I'm with you. I never understood getting all worked up stressed out to the verge of collapse. I actually find it one of the most calming times of the year

  6. Yeah, I stopped stressing about Xmas years ago. You can't "do it all" so don't try to. Just pick the most important traditions you enjoy and leave it at that.

  7. It’s a shame that holidays so often become nothing but stress fests. We’re having fun with it this year and plan to enjoy every minute. No stress.
