It is home to the "Parker House Roll" and the Boston Cream Pie. The main dining room is a spectacular space with high ceiling, carved walnut paneling and fussy old world service.
Oddly when we were there, the dining room was only open for breakfast and lunch. I had breakfast there twice. Eggs Benedict, and New England Corned beef Hash with poached eggs. The food was good, the service welcoming, and the space fabulous.
I would go back.
Travelling posh class, with TP and Gerry. 😜
ReplyDeleteI have stayed in posher, for less money
DeleteMy memory of Parker House was my first visit to Boston. I drove up from NYC in the wee hours of the morning to stay with my friend Mary, a bar tender. She wasn’t home because she had spent the night at Parker House with a business man she met at her bar. I had to entertain myself on Beacon Hill for 2 hours while she was entertaining herself. Probably not how Parker House wants to be remembered.
