Huntley Meadows is a county park about 2 miles south of the where we live. The site has a long and varied history, but over the past 40 years it has been managed as a wildlife preserve. There are very well maintained walking trails, and long boardwalks over the wetlands. A great place to go walk for an hour.
Snapping turtles don't sound very friendly. I hope the man doesn't overbalance and fall into the water and need recuing. You have taken some great birds in flight photos.

DeleteThe sort of reminds me of the lake where I used to live in Bucks County. The frogs don't seem to be the only thing looking to mate. The guy looking in the water looks rather intrigued..

DeleteWe often go down to Congaree National Park where they have a long boardwalk running through the bogs and marshes and forests. It's a peaceful stroll, though no turtles.

DeleteWe have many MetroParks in the Dayton area and it's my goal to explore every one of them in the next few months. So many beautiful trails to walk. The bike trail system also connects to many of the parks so time to dust off the bike and get moving!

DeleteWhat great photos! My favorite is the turtles lined up on the log. You will have to go back each month to take photos again in the same spots so we can see the seasons changing.
