Thursday Ramble: Articles that need to be written

I have this vague foggy vision of articles I have wanted to write, and have not done so.  There are reasons or excuses why they have not been written.  I always needed to focus on funded projects, and I was never able to find funding for these ideas.  Time was always tight.  And I needed to be mindful of official company policy, and what I was urging, that my former employer may or may not have policy to support some of the ideas. 

Now that I am retired, aka, an independent consultant. I can pursue the projects I want to pursue.  I can say what I think, and it is not restrained by policy. 

• Why we keep losing the war on poverty.  In the USA benefits programs penalize people who are thrifty, or who try to rise out of poverty.  The basic support systems, pull the rug out from anyone who tries to get on their feet. The benefits systems perpetuate poverty rather than eliminate it. 
• Does West Virginia's Default Health Care Surrogate Law Work?  In West Virginia if you are unable to consent to health care, and no family member is available, the local state social services office selects someone to make healthcare decisions for you. It is unique law, and no one has examined if it works as intended, or if it was a great idea that needed to be tried.  
• Your Financial Planner Wants You To Die Rich, do you?
• Do It Now,  Few People in their last decade of life are able to do all of the things they have dreamed of doing in retirement. 

These should keep me from getting bored for a while.  

PS: I wrote this one a couple of weeks ago.  I am not thinking that I will take a month or so off, then think about the writing projects that will occupy my time.
