A few days of dealing with building contractors and workers, I know just how Manuel feels, I am the only one who speaks English - sort of. I have all of Fawlty Towers on DVD, it is Britcom day whenever I want.
We had an orelly men experience in a move in San Francisco. It was in reverse though. Two newly arrived young Irishmen did the moving. We didn’t understand a single word they said.
I LOVE Fawalty Towers....and love Prunilla Scales. They just started airing a new sitcoms on PBS here with John Cleese..much older now...Hold the Sunset. Its pretty darn funny.
Just be glad you have the labour to do the job, English or not.
ReplyDeleteTile work going in today

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone speak English today?
DeleteLuckily we're a bilingual house, so we'd have at least two languages covered. Just out luck the workmen would have a third one, though.
ReplyDeleteJay can get by in French, Italian, German, those are no help.
