Is there such a thing as a perfect photograph? Way back in ancient history I tried my hand at professional photography. Every job that someone paid me for, I saw the flaws in. Shots that I thought were amazing, clients would point out the flaws in.
It drove me a little crazy.
Now I take photos for the fun of it. My keeper rate, is probably 1 in 100 that I think are good enough. One in a thousand I want to print and frame. The one where the fat crow lifts a leg to take flight into the rising sun, just as I click the shutter.
Such perfect timing. Beautiful. Although, I must admit my mind was elsewhere when I read the title. I thought, Oh yeah I’ll have a shot of something. Maybe caramel vodka this morning.
ReplyDeleteI am in Bourbon country this morning
DeleteMitchell...with eye issue...thats the last thing you need in your eye!!!!!
DeleteI am such a poor viewer of photos, missing the detail such as not noticing the bird in the photo lifting its leg before take off.
ReplyDeleteIt was one of a series of shots, the best of the group
DeleteI thought shot was a drink, too, but the bird is nice!
ReplyDeleteBirdshot is something else
DeleteI love to take pictures for the fun and spontaneity, the slowing down to really look at what's around you at that moment in time.
ReplyDeleteI love walking with a camera
DeleteThat is indeed a stunning photo!
ReplyDeleteNice sunrise
DeleteI did the same when I was in my 20's. I took wedding photos and learned to hate it. Back then, female photographers were rare and consequently, wedding guest thought they would do a better job and were always in my way. My mother made me coat with "Photographer" on the back thinking that would help. It didn't. It turned out for the best. I'm much happier taking photos for myself.
ReplyDeleteSexism was/is still a factor.
DeleteP.S. I love this photo. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteWhen any where...I take way to many pictures....only the ones I really like get saved or used. That one you feature is a keeper.
ReplyDeleteI keep them all, I have a huge photo archive, few get used
DeleteAny picture that I personally didn't take is perfect it my eyes. I never notice the little bird's foot either, but the photo is awesome.
ReplyDeleteEveryone can take great photos
DeleteEye of the beholder, sweetie, eye of the beholder.
Deletewhen I do take photos I try to think what I am doing and hope for the best. Most of my 'best shots' were unintended and surprising to me.
ReplyDeleteCool pic.
