When do you start packing for a trip? Over or weekend trip the night before. A long trip or international trip, four days in advance.
ReplyDeleteHow many pieces of luggage do you own? close to you, a 24, 26 , 28 and 30" and a very nice overnight satchel for small trips and weekends.
Are there things that are always packed and ready to go? Nope.
Have you ever "forgotten" something essential when traveling? most times no.
What is your number one tip for packing for a trip? Always take the mini gin!!! And on huge trips, half the clothing. Take clothes that you can mix and match and get as many outfits as possible without taking the whole closet...and at least one dressy ensemble. Thank heavens I didn't have long or international travel when doing drag...could you imagine the cases just for wigs?!?!?!?!?!?!
I watched them load The Queens luggage one time, Queens don't travel lite.
DeleteWhen do you start packing for a trip? A long trip, a couple of days. Short trip, the night before.
ReplyDeleteHow many pieces of luggage do you own? Four suitcases maybe of varying sizes. Three overnighter/carry ons. Not even sure.
Are there things that are always packed and ready to go? Not anymore.
Have you ever "forgotten" something essential when traveling? Yes.
What is your number one tip for packing for a trip? Make a list. If you can, stick to colors and patterns that mix well together so you can rematch items with each other.
For some on the Paseo all colors and patterns mix well
Delete1. The day before. Usually the night before. Then the suitcase is at the door or in the car so I don't have to think about it.
ReplyDelete2. Two suitcases. Both roller bags, both same size that could fit into overheads. And one carry-on bag that holds things in case luggage gets lost (glasses, meds, wallet, underwear!, and some snacks).
3. No. But I don't travel that much anymore.
4. Oh yeah. Socks one time was the big one. No socks isn't included in "business casual".
5. It should be "pack less", but I never follow my own advice and never wear most of what I pack. Also, take underwear that have lost their usage. Throw them out day by day, so you don't have to pack them on the way back and you get rid of stuff you needed to be rid of.
No socks is the Miami Vice look, you need the right shoes for it.
Delete1. Start packing the night before.
ReplyDelete2. A small and large suite case and two backpacks.
3. No, nothing permanently packed.
4. Frequently and often but nothing too important.
5. Travel light as our great nephew and partner are doing. Travelling the world with only hand luggage and backpacks and they still present well.
I generally check a bag, even on an overnight trip
DeleteWhen do you start packing for a trip? Usually the day before, though I make sure laundry and such is done so I don't need to look for certain things I want to take.
ReplyDeleteHow many pieces of luggage do you own? Six; two roller bags, two larger duffle bags if needed and two backpacks for carryon.
Are there things that are always packed and ready to go? No, I'm usually pretty prepared.
Have you ever "forgotten" something essential when traveling? I can't think of anything so ... Nope.
What is your number one tip for packing for a trip? Organization; we try to travel light, so a list is necessary.
I often do laundry the day before packing
Delete1. I pack the day before I leave.
ReplyDelete2. I've got 3 pieces of wheeled luggage (small, medium, large).
3. I don't keep anything "packed and ready to go."
4. I've forgotten electronic chargers -- major d'oh! And once I had to buy a fleece jacket because it was colder than anticipated.
5. Number 1 packing tip? If possible, take only the one pair of comfortable shoes which you are wearing. Shoes are heavy and take up a lot of space in luggage.
I have left behind a couple of chargers, always have extras
Delete1. When do you start packing for a trip? 1 or 2 days before.
ReplyDelete2. How many pieces of luggage do you own? 3 of different sizes.
3. Are there things that are always packed and ready to go? A cosmetic bag.
4. Have you ever "forgotten" something essential when traveling? Toothpaste but that was easily rectified.
5. What is your number one tip for packing for a trip? Pack less. I'm getting really good at it. I went to Paris & London for 2 weeks with only one carry-on sized bag. I just went to California for 3 days with just a backpack. (I love your answer to this question. It's perfect.)
I did a trip to Florida with my messenger bag, one night, quick down and back
Delete1. I lay out stuff the night before, and the packing fairy takes care of the rest.
ReplyDelete2. I don't know; not my job man!
3. BH's toiletry bag. Several to-go emergency bags.
4. Last Hawaiian cruise we forgot my travel wheelchair. BH stopped and bought another one on the way to the ship. I didn't actually forget my insulin; it was too early for a refill. I ran out in the middle of the ocean. Almost died.
5. My number one tip for packing? Get somebody who really, really loves you to do it.
And make them aware of your medical needs
DeleteWhen do you start packing for a trip? for a big trip, sometimes week in advance to make sure I have the right books/shirts and so forth. It is part of the fun. For mundane trips, the night before.
ReplyDeleteHow many pieces of luggage do you own? three. they fit into each other.
Are there things that are always packed and ready to go? the week's Rx.
Have you ever "forgotten" something essential when traveling? almost every time, worse luck.
What is your number one tip for packing for a trip? Pack pills separately so if the luggage is lost you have your meds.
I keep a small bag with a couple of days of pills, floss, tooth brush, toothpaste and hairbrush in my messenger bag all of the time, the only thing that changes when I travel is how many days pills are in it.
DeleteWhen do you start packing for a trip? Usually the day/night before.
ReplyDeleteHow many pieces of luggage do you own? 3 piece set, plus 1 large duffle bag and several smaller carry-on bags.hing.
