I know Mitchell used this video a few weeks ago, but it is so neat. It took a couple of years, and several million dollars to program the robots to dance. Millions of measurements and calculations are made each minute to make this happen. Our brains do this, without us even noticing that our brains are doing this. Amazing! The more we learn about machines, the more we learn about ourselves.
A little better than Dad Dancing.
ReplyDeleteMuch more graceful (I had to google it.)
DeleteI will never tire of this! The song is brilliant to begin with. The robots are a demonstration of genius. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteA long way from Rosie the Robot
DeleteI just watched a video of Rosie's first appearance on The Jetsons. I loved her!
DeleteIt's Christmas Duck and his boyfriend Mario!!!
ReplyDeletethank you, I was about to ask who are the duckies!
DeleteThat thing dances better than I do, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteMe too
DeleteI LOVE THIS SONG!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could dance like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijK0WTB_-RY
I'd hurt something, many things if I tried that,
Deleteme too; the arthritis would scream at me!
DeleteOkay, I'm a bit blown away by that. I've never seen anything like it!
ReplyDeleteWhen asked why they did it, the response was something along the line of to prove it can be done. If we are going to reply on machines, the machines need to be able to move without falling over. I was explaining recently why disheveled personal appearance is seen as a sign of cognitive decline, when you think about it showering and dressing requires complex mental skills of organization and sequencing, persons with dementia find that challenging, and often let personal appearance slide.
DeleteSure, sure they have moves, but can they do The Robot? This video mesmerizes me every time I watch. The ducks are so adorable!
