The Sunday Five: Dancer and Prancer and Vixen

1: Do you dance in public?

2: Will any holiday parties you attend this year include dancing?

3: Tell us about the last time you danced in public?

4: Tell us about any dance classes you might have ever taken?

5: Should it be illegal to dance at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC?

My answers:

1: Do you dance in public? Not in decades

2: Will any holiday parties you attend this year include dancing? No

3: Tell us about the last time you danced in public? It would have been in Orlando before we moved north in 1995, at the Firestone Club on Orange Avenue. The crowd was always fun.

4: Tell us about any dance classes you might have ever taken? I was a 4-H member as a teenager, and we had square dancing lessons one summer.

5: Should it be illegal to dance at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC? It mystifies me as to why it is, the law is periodically protested and enforced.

Please share your answers in the comments.

Will any holiday parties you attend this year include dancing? Alas no parties this season for me, with the mouth.

Tell us about the last time you danced in public? Deigo's Hide-A-Away in Rehoboth. I dance for close to two hours to dance music.

Tell us about any dance classes you might have ever taken? None.

Should it be illegal to dance at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC? I don't know why, because when HWSNBN kicks the bucket we will be dancing everywhere.

  3. 1: Do you dance in public? I have been known to, but I haven't done so recently.
2: Will any holiday parties you attend this year include dancing? Not that I know of.
3: Tell us about the last time you danced in public? I seem to recall a retirement party/wedding reception well before the Pandemic.
4: Tell us about any dance classes you might have ever taken? Basic ballroom in junior high and again during grad school, recreation folk (primarily Balkan), some jazz, tap and ballet millions of years ago just to try to understand what they were about
5: Should it be illegal to dance at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC? No. In my opinion dance is expression and is as walking and talking - which may be why the prohibition exists.

  6. 1: Do you dance in public? I have done in the past but it has been a long time.
2: Will any holiday parties you attend this year include dancing? I hope not.
3: Tell us about the last time you danced in public? Well, I can hardly remember but let us say my daughter's wedding in August 2019. I looked very smart and wedding guests remarked upon the artistic way in which I jiggled my hips.
4: Tell us about any dance classes you might have ever taken? I was in primary school and we learnt some traditional English country dances. This did not come easy to me but even so I graduated with honours.
5: Should it be illegal to dance at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC? Is it a memorial to Jefferson Airplane? I loved Grace Slick in her heyday. They were a special band and I think some dancing there would not go amiss but any MAGA Republicans in red caps found dancing there should be arrested by marauding ICE agents like Captain Hamster and Lieutenant Penguin.

    2. Holiday parties this year include dancing? No, we're all past that in my social circle. We're heavily into playing cards and snacking.
    3. Last time I danced in public? Probably 10-12 years ago at a lesbian social.
    4. Dance classes? Never took any formal classes. We were shown how to square dance in grade school during phys ed. That was fun. And I learned how to circle dance nearly 30 years ago with a Sufi group called Dances For Peace.
    5. Why on earth should it be illegal to dance at the Jefferson Monument?
