Have fun with this one:
1: Do you stop and look both ways before crossing the street?
2: Do you read the instructions for new appliances before using them?
3: Do you read the terms and conditions before clicking accept?
4: Have you ever bought "trip insurance?"
5: Do you set the parking brake / hand brake on your car?
My answers:
1: Do you stop and look both ways before crossing the street? A close call in London, and yes, like this deer, I stop and look in both directions before safely crossing the street (yes the deer made it across.)
2: Do you read the instructions for new appliances before using them? They come with instructions?
3: Do you read the terms and conditions before clicking accept? Seldom.
4: Have you ever bought "trip insurance?" Only a couple of times in my life.
5: Do you set the parking brake / hand brake on your car? No, they must work the cars pass an annual safety inspection that requires that brake to work.

1. I definitely look both ways.
ReplyDelete2. I usually read manuals, sometimes before using the product or sometimes during the first use.
3. No, and I would expect there aren't surprises in the t&c.
4. Yes. Now our credit cards gives us reasonable coverage.
5. I used to but now the handbrake comes on automatically.
The parking brake is automatic on the Mercedes, not on the other two cars. I haven't used one since I started driving automatic transmissions
Delete1: Do you stop and look both ways before crossing the street? I intend to, always.
ReplyDelete2: Do you read the instructions for new appliances before using them? Yes.
3: Do you read the terms and conditions before clicking accept? No.
4: Have you ever bought "trip insurance?" Always now.
5: Do you set the parking brake / hand brake on your car? Every time.
J always reads the instructions, it helps when I can't figure out how something works for him to know.
Delete1. Yes. Because most drivers are idiots.
ReplyDelete2. No. Because I'm an idiot. And I have a husband who LOVES manuals.
3. No. But they make them so you don't. "Game Stop" was my fave, as they had a clause in there that you sold your soul to them. It took people months or years to see it.
4. Not always, but to Europe and the beaches where there might be hurricanes.
5. I honestly don't even know where it on my Volvo, so I'm going with 'no'.
The parking brake may be electronic on the Volvo
Delete1: Do you stop and look both ways before crossing the street? Yes I do. There's some scary folks out there.
ReplyDelete2: Do you read the instructions for new appliances before using them? Yes; Carlos? No.
3: Do you read the terms and conditions before clicking accept? No. I don't have days and days and days!
4: Have you ever bought "trip insurance?" We have not, though now you have me wondering.
5: Do you set the parking brake / hand brake on your car? Always. Even when parked in the garage.
I have bought trip insurance a couple of times on trips to Europe, fortunately never filed a claim, Ireland in March of 2020 was a close call.
Delete1: Do you stop and look both ways before crossing the street? Yes, always.
ReplyDelete2: Do you read the instructions for new appliances before using them? Most of the time but probably not thoroughly.
3: Do you read the terms and conditions before clicking accept? No, the page would time out if I tried.
4: Have you ever bought "trip insurance?" No
5: Do you set the parking brake / hand brake on your car? Yes
I can't imagine how long it would take to read the terms and conditions
Delete1. Yes.
ReplyDelete2. Yes.
3. Who has time for that?
4. Always, for international travel.
5. Only if I'm parking on an incline.
I am reaching the age when I need to think about health care coverage when outside of the USA, Medicare does not automatically cover care outside of the USA.
Delete1. Yes, when I'm out (which seldom happens anymore).
ReplyDelete2. Instructions?
3. No, and they can have my soul for all I care.
4. I don't recall if we ever did or not.
5. Always.
Hmm, more people set the brake, than don't.
DeleteI look always; I sometimes read the appliances (usually later).
ReplyDeleteReading the conditions is pointless if I have made my decision to update.
no to trip insurance.
Sensible man
DeleteYes to all except for reading terms and conditions, never do, life's too short.
ReplyDeleteWe never used to have "trip insurance" until we learned of the mishap of a friend who had a bad fall and had to be repatriated with medical assistance at a cost of £20,000. Luckily he was insured. £200 per year for insurance seems like a bargain compared to that.
1: I ALWAYS stop and look both ways before crossing any street.
ReplyDelete2: I do read (or at least scan) instructions for new appliances.
3: I never read the terms and conditions before clicking accept.
4: I've never bought "trip insurance" but likely would now if I ever plan a trip again.
5: I always set the parking brake. (I don't always take it off right away.)
