My answers:
1: Do you go by your given name, or a nickname or shortened version of your name? I am fussy about my name, being my name.
2: Do you prepare your tax returns (forms) or have someone else do them? Yes, always have.
3: Have you used Zoom, or Facetime, or Google Video this week? Unavoidably, that is work most days.
4: Do people think that you are older, younger, or about what your actual age is? Most people think I am younger than I am, good genes, I haven't taken good care of myself.
5: Do you have a family member, you don't stay in contact with? One brother.

Do you go by your given name, or a nickname or shortened version of your name? I always go by Maddie. Half the time if someone calls my name Steven, I don't even hear it! People ask if Maddie is short for Matthew.
ReplyDeleteDo you prepare your tax returns or have someone else do them? Hell no..I have had a trusted financial advisor do mine. He's good.
Have you used Zoom, or Facetime, or Google Video this week? Never done it yet.I kept up with fellow drag queens , the Lad and Warbucks with Instagram Live on my cell phone. Can do it anywhere.
Do people think that you are older, younger, or about what your actual age is? Wayyyyy younger. And people always seem to guess my age 8- 10 years younger too, because of the way I act and think. Of course caking on a lb of moisturizer at bed times helps too.
Do you have a family member, you don't stay in contact with? A slew of cousins, and my half brother. We don't even know where he is at.
Age is a matter of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it does not matter
Delete1. I alternate between my first name and second name, the second being as you and 99% of the internet know me.
ReplyDelete2. I used to prepare my own, until it became too complicated. The accountant who prepared the next return remarked I had used an interesting method to depreciated our home computer. Now I am retired, I don't have prepare a return.
3. Just one phone video call with a niece.
4. No one ever says to me, you look young/old for your age. I guess I look my age.
5. Not any for any reason. Some are so distant.
Our tax lives have become simple. I think we will still need to file after I retire
Delete1: Do you go by your given name, or a nickname or shortened version of your name? Given. Went by the shortened version, Mitch, until I met SG. After 6 months, he started calling me by my given name and everyone I met since did the same. It got confusing because at work I still introduced myself as Mitch.
ReplyDelete2: Do you prepare your tax returns (forms) or have someone else do them? Someone else.
3: Have you used Zoom, or Facetime, or Google Video this week? FaceTime and Messenger video.
4: Do people think that you are older, younger, or about what your actual age is? People tell me they think I'm younger, but what else would they say...
5: Do you have a family member, you don't stay in contact with? Not a sibling, but plenty of others.
Video is such a great tool, for staying in touch over distance
Delete1: Do you go by your given name, or a nickname or shortened version of your name? Shortened version. Robert is too formal, so it's Bob. For my grandmother, though, it was always Bobby.
ReplyDelete2: Do you prepare your tax returns (forms) or have someone else do them? Someone else does them.
3: Have you used Zoom, or Facetime, or Google Video this week? Zoom.
4: Do people think that you are older, younger, or about what your actual age is? People say younger and I tell them it's because The Gays aren't allowed to age like heterosexuals.
5: Do you have a family member, you don't stay in contact with? I have a cousin who I believe talks to no one in the family.
I am trying to think if I know any Roberts, who go by Robert.
Delete1 - my given name
ReplyDelete2 - someone else
3 - wut?
4 - a little younger
5 - my MAGAt sister
Politics and crazies, every family has one.
Delete1. I use my given name.
ReplyDelete2. I do it myself using TurboTax.
3. I've used Zoom for visiting with friends and attending an ASU lecture and for work we use Microsoft Teams.
4. Most people think that I am younger than my age (thank heavens).
5. Yes, a nephew.
Turbo tax is the answer for most people
Delete1. I do. Not my blog name, but my actual, full name.
ReplyDelete2. I do farm that task out - to my husband.
3. Zoom and Facebook Messenger video chat. First for business, Second for drinking with friends.
4. I don't know what people think. I'm not stupid enough to ask. They're not stupid enough to tell me. I'd like to think I'm younger.
5. I have four sisters. I speak to one. It's a much much much happier existence.
I keep one of my two brothers turned off on Facebook, helps keep my blood pressure down.
Delete1: Do you go by your given name, or a nickname or shortened version of your name? It's hard to shorten "Sean" but I do have a few nicknames used by those nearest and nearest to me - Sassybear, Breenlantern, and Boo.
ReplyDelete2: Do you prepare your tax returns (forms) or have someone else do them? We always do them ourselves and just submitted them today.
3: Have you used Zoom, or Facetime, or Google Video this week? Yes. We zoom with two different sets of friends regularly, and I FaceTime with the BF a couple times a week. I don't use Google video, but I use Jitsi for work meetings with my staff. (It's open source, free and easy to use.)
4: Do people think that you are older, younger, or about what your actual age is? I think they think I'm younger - not so much because of the way I look as the way I act. I'm still an 8 year old kid trapped in a dilapidated, near-50 year old body.
5: Do you have a family member, you don't stay in contact with? Most of them. Almost all my extended family are estranged, save for one cousin, and I'm only close with 1 out of 5 siblings, my oldest brother. I almost never see or speak with the other 4 of them, except for an occasional family wide text if issues arise with my Mom. And I'm fine with that.
