The night before I left for this trip, I discovered that my camera was broken, it had been in my messenger bag and had gotten crushed. These were all taken with a Samsung phone. It was an intense trip, five workshops, on four islands, in five days. A week of 14 hour days, in paradise.

You’re not supposed to have to work in Paradise. So beautiful. I’ve only ever been to Maui, and that was a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteThe joke around the office was buy me an airline ticket and I will go anyplace.
DeleteIt just seems wrong to have been working so hard in Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of work, and a great adventure.
DeleteThe phones these days are rivaling good cameras anymore. I have a good one that my mother got me two Christmas's ago. The guy said his shop is barely hanging on, as many don't want bothered by lugging around equipment's, lens's filters and such....now switched to phones.
ReplyDeleteBeing able to change out to super wide angle and longer telephoto lenses, makes my Nikon worth carrying.
DeleteThis takes me back to when I lived on Maui for a few years. True paradise, albeit a little claustrophobic.
ReplyDeleteMaui was a short stay, and the hotel was terrible.
DeleteThese are great photos and that was an insane schedule. I've never been to Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteIt is a long flight from Phoenix, it is unique.
DeleteNice! We were on a round-trip cruise from San Francisco to Hawaii that same year for our 40th anniversary. Cameras can't really capture the vivid colors of the place.
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday, I will do some long Pacific Cruises, Seattle to Tokyo is on my dream list.
DeleteLooks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt is rather nice.
DeleteAmazing how flowering plants make even a parking lot look nice! I've never been to Hawaii but maybe one of these days I'll get there.
ReplyDeleteI jumped at the opportunity to go for work. My parents went twice after they retired.
DeleteBack in the day, my hubs attended a few conferences in Hawaii, and staying an extra few days was not an option for the grandparent babysitters. By the time we got adjusted to the six hour time difference, it was time to go home. The islands are beautiful, each one with its own identity and charm.
