1: Do you know anyone who is LGBTQI+?
2: Do you have any family members who are LGBTQI+?
3: Have you spent time talking to anyone who is Trans?
4: Have you attended a PRIDE parade or event?
5: Have you attended a same-sex marriage?
My Answers:
1: Do you know anyone who is LGBTQI+? Lots and lots of people.
2: Do you have any family members who are LGBTQI+? None that are out.
3: Have you spent time talking to anyone who is Trans? A couple of years ago I worked with a college intern for a semester. Near the end of the semester we went to lunch and he mentioned that he was trying to get the voter registration for his "dead name" removed from the rolls. That was the first time I knew he as trans.
4: Have you attended a PRIDE parade or event? I marched in the parade in Orlando a couple of times, and we went to the event in DC a couple of times.
5: Have you attended a same-sex marriage? Just my own in 2015.

ReplyDelete2. Yes, a trans nephew.
3. Yes, but not in depth. He cuts short any conversation about it, so I don't pry.
4. No.
5. No, but I'm still hoping to!

ReplyDelete1: Do you know anyone who is LGBTQI+? Yes I do in person... Also in blogging I have got to know quite a few gay people. Does that count?

Of course we count. I enjoy your pub quizzes, even when I struggle with the answer.
Delete1. I know a gazillion LGBTQ+ people, dahling.
ReplyDelete2. Family members? Not immediate family members (just me) but have heard of a couple of extended family members who are/were gay. There are lots more who I suspect are/were.
3. Talking to trans people? I've known many trans people over the years who were all, without exception, very fine people indeed. Right now I know one adolescent who is transitioning to female.
4. Attended Pride parade/events? Yes, virtually every year since the late 1980s. I've been in Pride parades, helped organize them, watched from the sidelines, gone to them in various cities across Canada, I LOVE PRIDE! Plus all the events and hoopla that comes along with the parade. I'm slowing down now, though, in my senior years. Can't get around as easily as I used to.
5. Attended same-sex marriages? Oh yes, but all for lesbians -- have never been to a gay male wedding. At least, not yet.
The Guys should invite you.

ReplyDelete2: Do you have any family members who are LGBTQI+? Yes, two of my nieces, and they are sisters.
3: Have you spent time talking to anyone who is Trans? The trans woman at the UPS store who waits on me. It's quick conversations.

5: Have you attended a same-sex marriage? Yes, both of my nieces' weddings. Ohio legalized same-sex marriage in June 2015 and the first wedding we attended was August 2015.
2015 was a good marriage year.
DeleteDo you know anyone who is LGBTQI+? ummmmmmmmmmmmmm.........
ReplyDeleteDo you have any family members who are LGBTQI+? To my knowledge me, and one cousin.
Have you spent time talking to anyone who is Trans? I have three close trans friends. I enjoy learning from them.
Have you attended a PRIDE parade or event? Honey I AM the Pride event!!!
Have you attended a same-sex marriage? 4 so far. And I even popped out of a cake in drag for one of the "bachelor" parties!
Somehow I can imagine you popping out of cake in more ways than one.
Delete1:Lots
ReplyDelete2: My cousin
3: not too much
4: yes
5: yes
And you are the funky uncle.
Delete1: Do you know anyone who is LGBTQI+? *Giggle* The question is, do I know anyone who's not? (*smirk*)
ReplyDelete2: Do you have any family members who are LGBTQI+? An Uncle (passed away); one male cousin (passed away); one male cousin I'm friends with; one female cousin I'm estranged from; one female cousin who doesn't identify as lesbian but was in a relationship for 20 years with another woman. If there are any others, I do not know about them.
3: Have you spent time talking to anyone who is Trans? I became good friends with a trans woman in the chorus I used to be part of a long time ago. We still swap holiday cards. I am not aware of any other trans folk I may be connected too, but several gender fluid friends.
4: Have you attended a PRIDE parade or event? So many: Albany, NYC, Boston, Buffalo, Rochester, Toronto, Vermont, Virginia, New Hampshire...used to go every year for over 2 decades, but I am too old and tired to go know.
5: Have you attended a same-sex marriage? Aside from my own, I've attended 1 lesbian and 2 gay male weddings. (Possibly a bi-sexual wedding, since I don't know the sexuality of everyone at every wedding I've attended.) Jeffrey and I participated in a couple LGBTQIA+ "mass weddings," so I saw dozens of couple get married that we didn't know personally. Gay or straight or other...I don't enjoy attending weddings.

We are never too old, we just need to figure out how to enjoy the events in a less demanding ways.
