Sunday Five: Out Of This World

1: What planet would you travel to, if you could?

2: If a being from another planet landed in your home, what would you say to them?

3: Do you think earth has been visited by life from other planets?

4: Have you seen a comet, or meteorite?

5: If you could teleport anyplace on the earth for lunch tomorrow, where would you go?

My Answers:

1: What planet would you travel to, if you could? Uranus, what a fun name for a planet.

2: If a being from another planet landed in your home, what would you say to them? Run while you can.

3: Do you think earth has been visited by life from other planets? I think we too narrowly define life too truly answer this question.

4: Have you seen a comet, or meteorite? When I was a teenager there was a meteorite shower in Michigan, it is spectacular, they are loud when they streak to the earth and land beyond the cowpasture across the road.

5: If you could teleport anyplace on the earth for lunch tomorrow, where would you go? Florence Italy

If a being from another planet landed in your home, what would you say to them? Leave and take me with you.

  2. 1. I am a bit of a homebody, so I don't want to travel to another planet. I've always thought Saturn was pretty.
    2. Show me your external reproductive organs.
    3. No. If that was some similar alien form of life to us, it would have been discovered by now.
    4. I've seen a meteorite, and I remember Halley's comet flying overhead but I can't remember if I actually saw it.
    5. Portugal.

  3. 1: What planet would you travel to, if you could? One I’ve never heard of that has truly intelligent life.
2: If a being from another planet landed in your home, what would you say to them? Tell me what it’s like where you’re from. And why the hell did you come here?
3: Do you think earth has been visited by life from other planets? No. But what do I know?
4: Have you seen a comet, or meteorite? Yes. We spent an hour on our deck in Connecticut and watched the most amazing (for me) meteor shower.
5: If you could teleport anyplace on the earth for lunch tomorrow, where would you go? Sicily to celebrate with an old, old friend.

    2. GO! Get out of here while you can.
    3. Yes. There are believed to have billions of observable solar systems in our galaxy - and those are just the observable ones. It'd be silly to think there isn't life out there. I mean, finding us amongst all of this might be tought.
    4. I have seen both a comet and a meteor. Loved it!
    5. Naples.

  7. 1) Saturn, for the rings
    2) Do you take passengers?
    3) No, why would they come here (and I'm currently entertaining the idea that the universe never allows a species to develop interstellar travel; they all go extinct before they get to that point--keeps things tidier)
    4) Meteorites in the shy and on the ground, in museums
    5) Aigues-Mortes
