Here I am all dressed up in 1973. Middle School graduation. A navy blazer, with those super wide lapels, I fell in love with it, and bought it myself. I still have the pin, it was a school pin, the chain connects the school initials with my graduation year. The velvet bow tie is long gone. To much hair on top. The sun in my eyes. I grew into the nose. If I had known then, what I know now.
What have you had since you were in school?
Well, I've got my diploma. And my high school class ring. A book or two. Oh, and one book, some technical electrical tome, in which I cut a hole the size of a pack of cigarettes. I laugh every time I see it. The cigarettes are long gone, but I kept the book.
ReplyDeleteI love the book, that is a keeper
DeleteYearbooks...some photos...sex.
ReplyDeleteSex, and you grew into that
Deletenothing but my high school diploma and my 2 college degrees. I hated every aspect of school. such a cutie!
ReplyDeleteAs I recall I was depressed and moody as a teenager. Someplace I have a middle school diploma.
DeleteSuch a little sweetie!
ReplyDeleteOh
DeleteNice hair! I had gorgeous brunette hair in high school too. Wish I still had that, LOL!
ReplyDeleteLol
DeleteI graduated in 1961 and since then ... I've had 2 marriages, 2 divorces, 2 sons and ... there is NO 2 ways about it -- there will NEVER be a 3rd times a charm bullshit! LOL
ReplyDeleteI wouldn’t know how to date in 2020
DeleteHS yearbooks, a grammar textbook (not stolen, we had to buy them), a paperback copy of To Kill a Mockingbird. My diploma may be around somewhere. I have lots of photographs, too. One is of me in my Jr High school graduation dress--ugly glasses, ugly hair, nice dress and shoes.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe the waist on this
DeleteGraduated high school in 1974. I've kept my diploma, yearbooks an old paperback copy of The Making of Star Trek (stolen from the school library, I was broke.). Most importantly I still have Balder Half, he's my treasure.
ReplyDeleteHe was a keeper
DeleteYep, still is.
Deleteyou got lucky, duchess! :)
DeleteI have a class ring that I don't wear but it's in my jewelry box. I remember those wide lapels.
ReplyDeleteI have my ring, I found my mothers on the last day I was cleaning out their house
DeleteA couple of sweaters, actually. But, none of the communicable diseases.
ReplyDeleteAnd, oh my god, that jacket and tie!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope we never see lapals like that again. I don't have any clothes from that era. I have one a couple from the early 90's, one I bought in London in May of 1990. Hard to believe it is 30 years old.
DeleteI am reminded of Oscar Wilde.
ReplyDeleteThe hair on top,
