A Porsche turning left on Castro Street in San Francisco, with an empty passenger seat.
1: How old were you when you got your first drivers' license?
2: Can you drive a car with a manual transmission?
3: Have you ever owned a car without air conditioning?
4: Have you ever driven a truck larger than a pick-up truck?
5: If he pulled over, would you hop in the passenger seat?
My answers:
1: How old were you when you got your first drivers' license? 16 my father insisted that I do so.
2: Can you drive a car with a manual transmission? Yes, I learned in a 1965 Ford Pickup with a three speed manual.
3: Have you ever owned a car without air conditioning? Yes, I bought it for my first spouse to drive when we were married.
4: Have you ever driven a truck larger than a pick-up truck? Yes, I even shifted the multi speed rear axle.
5: If he pulled over, would you hop in the passenger seat? Probably not, my mother told me to never ride with a stranger (Uber and Lift creep me out.)

5: Not today.
1. Let's see, my youngest was walking but still sucking a binky so he wasn't 18 months old yet...calculating...1979-1956...I was 23.
ReplyDelete2. In a life or death situation, maybe. My mother taught my husband and no one was able to teach me. Too many things to think about at the same time.
3. All of my cars came with a/c. It's just that some were broken.
4. I was going to say no until I read Bob's U-Haul remark. I totally blocked our move from San Diego to Livermore! I not only had to unexpectedly drive a moving truck (they gave us two smaller trucks rather than the one big truck that we asked for)I had to also drag along a car carrier behind it. Don't even get me started on driving in Los Angeles traffic and trying to pull into gas stations.
5. No way in hell! I don't ride with strangers driving shoe boxes!
Shoe boxes!!! That was the era of flair and style girl! I was so born in the wrong time.
DeleteMaddie, I was referring to size, not style. I've seen first hand what a semi can do to a small car. I just don't like cars small enough for me to wear! I must admit, though, I do love your old souledness. Yes, I make up words.
DeleteI'm a modern day guy outside with a very old soul.
