Sunday Five: Flowers and Bees

My Answers: 
1: What is the first flower to bloom in spring where you live?  Crocuses, I missed bulb flowers when I lived in Florida, there is not enough of a cold season for them to bloom a second year. 
2: Is there a flower that reminds you of funerals? Red Roses, what my grandmother ordered for my grandfather's funeral. 
3: What is your favorite flower? Dandelion, my father kept bees, and the Dandelion bloom was the first honey flow of spring for the bees. 
4: When was the last time you had fresh flowers in your home? Today, we almost always do. 
5:  What is blooming where you are today? Trees, bulb flowers,

    3: What is your favorite flower? I don’t have a favorite.
    4: When was the last time you had fresh flowers in your home? Last year. We’re due, now that the cats are not a risk.
    5: What is blooming where you are today? Lots of things. But rows and rows of roses in the gardens below.

    5: What is blooming where you are today? White cherry blossom on a tree in our garden.

    3: What is your favorite flower? Really tough question, I'll say hibiscus.
    4: When was the last time you had fresh flowers in your home? Wow, it's been a while. I might have rectify that today.

  7. 1. First flower of Spring -- if you can find any remaining patches of virgin prairie, the first flower of Spring is the wild crocus. I haven't seen any in real life since my childhood.
    2. Flower of funerals/death -- white lilies.
    3. Favourite flower -- Don't know if I can pick just one, but for arguments sake -- Bleeding Hearts.
    4. Fresh flowers in house -- bought some yellow tulips for Easter.
    5. Blooming here right now -- absolutely nothing. It's still winter. In about a month's time, the fruit trees and dandelions should be blooming.

    4: When was the last time you had fresh flowers in your home? Just this morning I threw away the bouquet from last week and will get a new bouquet when I go to Trader Joe's today.
    5: What is blooming where you are today? Still some daffodils, tulips, bluebells, hellebores, lots of wildflowers at the MetroParks, dandelions.

    3. Lilacs because I grew up in Lombard, Illinois - the home of Lilacia Park.

  10. What is the first flower to bloom in spring where you live? Always the lawn crocus.

    Is there a flower that reminds you of funerals? Yes the big white Easter Lily.

    What is your favorite flower? Ranunculus
    When was the last time you had fresh flowers in your home? Every week. When my garden blooms almost every three days.

    What is blooming where you are today? Tulips, hellebore, daffodils, hyacinths, weeping cherry and cherry trees, grape hyacinth and oodles of other varieties getting ready.

    2. Orchids or lilies?
    3. Ummmmm.......... See #1.
    4. Maybe a year ago.
    5. Red buds. And I think the dogwoods......but don't quote me on that.

  12. 1. Probably daffodils. They appear in January. But then again, hellebores appear in winter!
    2. Not really. I haven't been to enough funerals to associate any particular flower with them.
    3. Maybe zinnias. Or dahlias.
    4. About a month ago. I buy fresh flowers every now and then but I don't have them constantly.
    5. Lots of things -- honesty, camassias, primulas, grape hyacinths, bluebells, African daisies, and the azaleas are just starting.

    3: What is your favorite flower? There is a rose that has the scent of raspberry filled donuts. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name.
    4: When was the last time you had fresh flowers in your home? Easter a few years ago.
    5: What is blooming where you are today? Mock orange - to which I have discovered I have a strong allergic reaction.

    4: When was the last time you had fresh flowers in your home? it is so long ago I don't remember.
    5: What is blooming where you are today? some of the cacti are in bloom, with huge almost alien-looking flowers that pop right out of the side of the cacti.
