Travel Tuesday: Pennsylvania State Capital 87

The Pennsylvania State Capital was built in the late 1800's to replace an earlier capital that burned down.  I had a nice walk about.

  1. My favorite spot here in Harrisburg.

Easy to see why year after year it's voted the prettiest capital building in the US. Did they tell you on the tour that all those beautiful globe lights the ladies hold are Austrian crystals, and the other solid glass globes are also Austrian, but have a special cut in the glass so the blub reflects an "x" shape within the globe? Neat. You got amazing pictures.

  3. Interesting to note the visual endorsement of Roman paganism as pure religion. We should be so lucky...

  4. Is that some sort of capitol orgy statue on the outside and did I see Maddie sculpted there?

I love the shots of the dome, both inside and out. The California capitol building in Sacramento has a gorgeous dome from the inside,.

  7. No expense was spared on the decorative features of this gorgeous building. Pictures two and three suggest that Pennsylvanians enjoy a good orgy from time to time.
