- Have you ever gotten on an expressway, going the opposite direction of where you wanted to go?
- Does you car have built in GPS?
- When was the last time you were truly lost?
- Do you turn down the music, to help you find where you are going?
- Do you buy maps before going someplace?
My answers:
- Have you ever gotten on an expressway, going the opposite direction of where you wanted to go? Only once, I got on going south bound when I wanted to go northbound.
- Does you car have built in GPS? Sweetie Bear's car does, my VW does not.
- When was the last time you were truly lost? We got Ms. Garmin lost trying to find the Bayeux Tapestry, she kept saying turn left onto the street we were already on. After a few minutes of driving in circles we turned her off and I let my instincts lead us to where we were going, about 5 blocks away.
- Do you turn down the music, to help you find where you are going? Doesn't everyone?
- Do you buy maps before going someplace? Yes, I ordered a pop-out map of New Orleans for that trip.

Have you ever gotten on an expressway, going the opposite direction of where you wanted to go? Hell, I've gotten on the expressway going in the wrong direction against traffic!!!!
ReplyDeleteDoes your car have built in GPS? Yes! But I often use goggle maps too.
When was the last time you were truly lost? Been ages. But I think it was in the Pocono MTS. I generally have a very good sense of direction.

Delete1 A couple of times. No sat nav to blame. I just didn't know and guessed incorrectly.
ReplyDelete2 Yes, our car does, as have our last two cars. This one is so complicated, we just use Google Maps on our phones propped up in the car. We can plug or bluetooth the phones to the car display system and use Google Maps on the screen, but we don't bother.
3 Lost in London at the Old Street roundabout undergoing reconstruction. There was no signage at all and if Google Maps showed a directional indicator four years ago, I didn't know about it. I am sure you couldn't just hold your phone up to a building to get an exact location and direction you were facing back then.
4 We mostly travel in silence now, so it is not an issue. But if music was playing, I would turn it down.
5 While I still find paper maps useful, I don't really bother with them much unless I need to be super prepared.
London streets are great fun, glad I only did that once.

5. It's hard to find paper maps anymore. Now I check out Google Maps on my iMac before going anywhere, so I know the route.
My favorite pop up or pop out city maps have all but dissapeared

Do you buy maps before going someplace? Yes. I like to see the big picture. I used to get the AAA Trip Tiks for road trips. Sadly, they're no longer made.
