My answers:
1: Have you ever wondered, if the British would welcome us back? Yes, during the last presidential administration.
2: Have you seen the White House? Yes, obviously, you can once again get down to the edge of Pennsylvania Ave, a massive improvement over the fortress that was in place during the last administration.
3: Have you been inside the White House? A long time ago, when the first Bush was in residence and public tours were still first come first served.
4: Do you have a tradition for celebrating July 4th? Burgers and potato salad.
5: Do you like or dread fireworks? They are pretty, but the noise is annoying - and we don't have a dog.

Have you ever wondered, if the British would welcome us back? No. And why would they? We'd ruin their cultured life with our impatience and lack of decorum.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the White House? Yes
Have you been inside the White House? Yes on field trip.
Do you have a tradition for celebrating July 4th? Oh yes. We have a Bar-B-Q at my mothers with some family and Pimms Cups all around.
Do you like or dread fireworks? No. I rather enjoy them and out dogs don't seem to mind them. Nor do I...it's the gin.....
Enjoy! Hope the dogs don't over do it on the gin
Delete1: Have you ever wondered, if the British would welcome us back? No, but I do often wonder what would have happened had we not had that revolution.

Good point on the fireworks, the amatatures are part of the problem
Delete1. As Mitchell says.
ReplyDelete2. No.
3. No.
4. No, but we were with a couple of American lasses on a train in Vietnam many years ago and we bought drinks and snacks and planned a celebration but it just didn't happen as it was 'just too damn hot'.
5. Fireworks are ok. We've seen many of them from our home but not since you know what. While private fireworks are banned here, I wouldn't mind if public fireworks were too.
I wish fireworks were kept in the hands of professionals here
Delete1. I am thinking they're thinking, 'how can we further distance ourselves from them'.
ReplyDelete2. Many a time. Before and after it became a maximum security prison.
3. I've had private tours of the White House and the OEOB (Clinton years). I've also done the standard WH tour too (Carter and Clinton years).
4. Not really. In the old hood, yes, but that's pretty much done.
5. They're fine, for a while - but I don't seek them out. SO lucky none of our dogs have been frightened by them.
12 years here, and I have not had an invitation, a colleague was invited, couldn't go, and didn't take advantage of naming a replacement.
Delete1: Have you ever wondered, if the British would welcome us back? I'm not sure they'd want us. We're a little messed up right now.

3: Have you been inside the White House? I have toured it, yes.
4: Do you have a tradition for celebrating July 4th? Simple quiet day; Carlos is performing with the Camden Community Band at the Kershaw-Cornwallis House but that's about it.
5: Do you like or dread fireworks? They scare MaxGoldberg but the rest of the animals don't care and neither, really, do I.
I went out for my morning walk in the swamp, the Tour de France is on, then Indy car racing.

We can hear the fire works, but not see them, too many trees
DeleteHave you ever wondered, if the British would welcome us back? Mother England, always looking out for goods, sees her rich off-spring as likely to care for her. I sense she's happy with the current relationship.
