I sure am glad, that I am not the only one who makes silly typos. A former boss of mine holds the record for the most embarrassing typo, she sent out a message urging the entire state legislature to "support funding for legal aid for poop people." Spellcheck did't catch "Poop" when it should have been "Poor".
What is the most embarrassing typo you have seen?
I almost sent an e-mail to a guvmint client; his last name was "flickinger", but I spelled it "fuckinger".
ReplyDeletegood thing I proofread BEFORE hitting the SEND button!
Good one!
DeleteNot a typo, but once in a meeting, instead of saying, 'data repository,' I said 'data suppository.'

Laughing is a good way to start the day, thank you.
DeleteYears ago when I worked for SUNY (State University of New York), I wrote a report on a project we did with a group from CUNY (City University of New York), I actually typeset the thing myself with a fancy running head that I entered once and picked up on every page. I don't remember the title but instead of CUNY, I had typed CUNT. Fortunately, I caught my mistake but not until AFTER the copies were made! Oh, poop!
ReplyDeleteHow funny! We have the same sign hanging up in our building
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it a grammar difference between English and Spanish?
