My Answers:
1: Is there anyone who always travels with you? Travel Penguin, he spends most of his time in my messenger bag that I always take on the road, and often take into the city.
2: Have you ever replaced luggage in the middle of a trip? I had a wheel go bad while rolling bags through Termini in Rome, and bought a replacement the next day so I wouldn't have to drag that bag the rest of the trip.
3: Do you keep a travel toiletries kit packed and ready to go all the time? Yes, and a second small bag with a few days of prescription meds.
4: Do you keep foreign currency on hand? I like landing with enough to take a taxi to the hotel and have lunch, I have Euros, GB pounds, Canadian dollars, and Icelandic kroner.
5: When did you get your first passport? 1990, I was in my early 30's.

DeleteNo to the first four questions. I got my first passport about 20 years ago, when the Rare One and I went to Mexico. Before then, I had only ever left Canada to go to the USA and in those days, no passport was needed for that.

My first passport was a rush, I had already booked the airline tickets.

We had some luck exchanging old Pounds for new at a Post Office. Cards have become so ubiquitous that it is less of an issue than it was even ten years ago.
