The Saturday Morning Post: Be Inspired to Be Creative

I texted this image to my youngest Nephew, he texted back that the colors in the glass were inspiring. Sometimes art is about the subject, sometimes about the feel,  and as Andrew pointed out, sometimes it is about the colors.  A week from today our local arts group is hosting an afternoon of workshops.

A dear neighbor, Mrs. Miller, over 50 years ago, showed me how to paint. She took the time, to share with me the basics. When I started showing some of my color block work, I spoke of her kindness and said, "if you look at my work and think, I could do that, I know you can, and if you want I will be glad to spend an afternoon showing you how I do it." My idea for next Saturday afternoon, is "Come Paint With Me."

Looking at the colors above, and thinking of Andrews comment, I will encourage people to work with the colors that inspire them.

What inspires you this weekend.

  1. Inspires? Not sure. I will be quite pleased if I can master the front and rear recording cameras in new my car.

    1. Passing on the gift - Mrs. Miller was an interesting character. She described herself as a successful widow. The first husband left her a 1,000 acres of farm. that she sold to finance the dreams of the second husband, who left her a VW, Porsche, Audi dealership in a major college town.

  3. Everyone needs an outlet for self-expression, whether it's drawing, painting, sculpture, writing, cooking, gardening ... let it out.

  4. My oldest son's birthday is tomorrow so I am inspired to make him his favorite dinners this week. We've done this for a couple of years now and he always looks forward to a week of his favorites.
