It is good to be home on this Monday morning, home for a few months. We were in New York late last week to meet up with friends for lunch.
The thin man above, is Stephen. He is responsible for me getting started blogging. He was blogging, and going away for a couple of weeks and asked for guest bloggers. I volunteered and put up a few posts on his blog, and started my own. He was in New York from London to celebrate his 60th birthday. He is a lighting director in live theater in London.
Through his blog, we met Bob aka Woodchuck, and his wife Kelly who were blogging. The wedding two weeks ago was their oldest daughter.
We met Mitchell, who is moving again, through blogging. We have met him a couple of times in New York, and he introduced us the joys of a New York Black and White cookie. The last time we met him in NYC (in January, the first trip of this year for us) we met Sassy Bear, aka Sean and Jeffery in person. A really neat lunch we hope to be able repeat.
The trip to New York had a very limited agenda, have lunch with Stephen and Duncan, and have lunch with Kent, my Sweet Bear's grad school mentor. Nothing beyond that. I had a couple of delightful later afternoon early evening walks around Chelsea, an area of the city we had not spent time in. The City is looking good. The Subway was kind to us.
My mood is good, and content with being home for a few weeks (months.)
After so much travel it is always good to be home. I agree.
ReplyDeleteI'm resting now before I open another showroom the next two weeks, and then my huge vacation of the year. Even better, I'm off today! After that, and then thanksgiving and Christmas I plan to take a long rest and stay put.
Big trip coming up?
DeleteWe wandered the streets of Chelsea and Greenwich Village. I suppose we caught the Subway from where we stayed in W 40th.
ReplyDeleteI may meet another blogger later this year. I am sure it will go swimmingly.
For your next selfie, how about a grumpy or angry look.
We have stayed around 40th and 7th Ave several times, we were on 26th between 6th and 7th avenue this trip.
DeleteHoping we can do it again in January. Next thing you have to try is a canookie from Mia´s Bakery.
ReplyDeleteLet me know, I will make plans.
DeleteCount me in!
DeleteWe all owe a great debt of gratitude to Stephen for getting you into blogging!
ReplyDeleteI have met so many wonderful people through blogging. I wish he would return to it.
DeleteIt's been a bit since we've been to New York and we had planned a trip to Asheville after this probate thing finished, but that looks like it needs to be put on hold while they recover.
ReplyDeleteSo, maybe La Grand Apple???
Stop by DC on the way, I'll buy dinner.
DeleteI'm so glad to have found your Blog and am grateful to Stephen for getting you started! It was Yorkshire Pudding who introduced me to your blog...
ReplyDeleteStephen grew up in Harrogate in Yorkshire, it is all one big circle.
DeleteSounds like you had a good time in NYC. The energy of that city is great pick-me-up.
ReplyDeleteThe City looked better than it did the last couple of times we were there.
DeleteAs Sharon said, the energy in NYC is invigorating. Chelsea is a cool neighborhood, lots of art.
ReplyDeleteI will look for hotels there the next trip.
DeleteI keep hearing so much about black-and-white cookies lately, I think I'll have to try to make some.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to reading how that works
DeleteIt was a favorite moment form this year's adventures to meet you both!
