Travel Tuesday - Glass

Sharon over at Phoenix Daily Photo has done several postings about the Chulluli Glass exhibit as Desert Botanical Gardens.  I love colorful glass, wish I was headed to Phoenix sometime soon.  There was a massive Chulbuli exhibit in Seattle three years ago when we were there.  Amazing colors.  A little expensive to tour, but worth every penny. I am glad I saw it when I was there.

  1. Here is Philly at the Parks Casino all the massive chandeliers and wall scones and lighting in general is all by Chulluli. I can't imagine what the price tag was, but it looks spectacular when you walk in.

Sometimes price can divert us from seeing an exhibition, and generally I don't think we've gone wrong.

  3. There’s even a Museum of Glass in Tacoma with the Chihuly Glass Bridge. Have you been to Bellagio Hotel in Vegas with the Chihuly glass sculpture ceiling?

    2. Fun Fact: In that museum is a piece designed by the daughter of friends of ours. She was in grade school at the time, and the museum held a competition for grade-schools to design a piece that they would then execute and display. It's called "Horsey Ham."

  4. We have seen several Chihuly installations, the best being at Fairchild Tropical Gardens in Miami. And when we were in the PNW we saw a lot of his work in both Seattle and Spokane. There's an entire pedestrian bridge with walls and ceilings made from his art. It's fantastic.
