The Queen of the Sky
The Queen of the Sky, not that one, the 747, is nearly out of passenger service. Being replaced by mostly smaller and more fuel efficient airplanes. The fuel efficient I can see, I am disappointed by the smaller, Queens should be larger than life. I have flown 747s 3 or 4 times, I miss the comfort that the space allows.
Ever flown the Queen?
Some of my favorite flights have been on the 747. I will miss it. I have yet to fly a A380, but that prospect looks to be far off at this point.
ReplyDeleteIt is disappointing the economics of the A380 have not worked, I have not had the pleasure.
DeleteLove that giant queen! I've been on 747s many times. Thought they were cool at first but then I discovered that all that space was not put there for my legs and I never had access to an upstairs lounge!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I ever found the stairs from my seats in steerage.
Deletenope. never have. I think the largest plane I ever took was an MD80.
ReplyDeleteand here I thought you were talking about sweet bear! ;-b
But was I?
DeleteOur 747s are so old.I hate flying on them.
ReplyDeleteThey are almost done except for real long haul flights
DeleteBalder Half has informed me that I have flown on a 747 more than once. I don't know the difference. The leg room sucked and the seats were still too squished together. The one enjoyable flight (comparatively speaking) was the one to Hawaii when we got upgraded to first class for fifty bucks. Now that was comfortable! I did like flying, just not the whole airport thing and squished togetherness. Looking out the window was fun. Coming into Lindburgh Field was always scary.
ReplyDeleteSD is a fun place to land,
DeleteSure it's fun, as long as the plane doesn't go skidding into the ocean!
DeleteHow often does that happen, what I loved was flying by a widow level for the houses on the hill
DeleteI don't think I have. I am not one to remember the airplanes.
ReplyDeleteBig, very big, with a hump on the top.
