Where in the World is TR?
I’ve kind of been resting since the trip to Florida. Not much happening here. Rain one day, snow the next. It will be cold tonight. DG is starting to plan this year’s travel. We will be in South Carolina the end of this week. The end of February we will be in Charleston, West Virginia for a couple of day, nothing to exciting there. In March we will be in Denver for four days. In April we will be on Daytona Beach for a full week workshop. In May we are scheduled to be in Rosebud South Dakota for a couple of days. In early June we are scheduled to be in Anchorage Alaska. It will be the first time either of us has been to Alaska. We were looking at glacier tours over the weekend (reminds me of home!) In late July and early August we are planning to go to England, the Netherlands, Belgium and France (Normandy.) There are tentative plans for a trip to New Mexico and another to Michigan. In October we will have at least one conference in Washington DC. All in all it will be a busy travel season. I should rest up some more. The total was 49 nights in hotels last year, a new record for the two of us.
TR
the chucklette did a math problem with printouts of her father's itinerary from the past two years - averaged to 14 days per month
ReplyDeleteI just thought I should mention it - afterall, he will take this as a challenge and want to prove he "won" nights out last year ;)
The Squirrel is in for 101 hotel nights in '06...
ReplyDeleteOh, god, what have I started?
ReplyDeleteDG
102 for '06 and 130 for '05....
ReplyDeleteThis is one thing I do not want to win.
I perfer the Holiday Inn Express because of the points the new beds that most of them have are great.
ReplyDeleteI drive about 40,000 per year and last year I had 30,000 in the air as well. I had 49,000 flight miles in '05.
I almost always get to the airport at least 2 hours in advance of my flight time. I use this time to work and make calls to everyone. I like to fly as my cell is off and I can just relax, sleep, or watch a movie. I get upgraded to 1st class about every 3rd fligt I take on Alaska and American Air and Northwest treat me pretty well. I don't fly Southwest unless I have too. Not that it's a bad airline, I just don't like the "cattle call" seating. I like my seat, 6F, on the 737 class airplane. It's really sad day when you know the seat configurations on most airplanes based on model or airlines.
Tip, when you check into the hotel, ask the person behind the counter where they go to eat, not what is in the little book behind the counter, but...."Where do you go to eat". I have found some really good food all over the country by asking this question.
I really like my little black steed as it is great to drive out on the freeways of our great country. (2005 GMC 1500 4X4) I get about 18 miles per gallon with about 1500lbs of steel in the back
Oh my! A detailed behavioral study of the habits of the woodchuck. This is turning into a real nature program!
