What have I been up to in the kitchen? Hmm, a pork spanish rice dish, tortellini and salad, roast pork tenderloin with cheesy mashed potatoes and green beans - nothing terribly exciting. I started my second batch of dill pickles for the summer.
Who have I talked with this week? Amy, Kevin, Jon, Giuseppe, Ruth, Paul, Renee, My Sweet Bear.
When is the next adventure? Mid-July a few days to visit family.
What is on the easel? A large canvas primed in blue, the theme for August show is "Explosion of Color." I need to create something.
What will keep me busy this week? The current art gallery show comes down on Wednesday morning, the new show goes up on Friday and Opens Saturday afternoon. I have two paintings and six photos ready for this show. I have printed the wall tags, and I am working with the graphic artist to finalize the program. The PowerPoint for the opening reception is almost finished. Joan and Pratibha are curating the show after this one. I am organizing two more in the fall, Still Life and Real Life, and Landscapes and Dreamscapes.
Explore with tall ships. Now that is something everybody doesn't do every week.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason your blog and a few others, doesn't want to load in my reader anymore and hasn't for weeks. I suspect Google doesn't want to spend any money on blogger updates or "infostructure anymore or something?
Maddie, Some blogs get updated for me and the ones that don't, I just open them up and refresh the pages and the new posts appear.

DeleteI imagine curating the shows and also creating for the shows takes a bit of time, but sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteI worked in an art gallery in San Francisco in college and we had a student exhibit of movement photos, but not of things moving but of the photographer moving, riding in a car, on a bike, running, downhill on a cable car.
We called it Drive By Shootings and had to fight to keep the name.
I like that title, worth fighting for

DeleteHaving the strong possibility of exhibiting in those regular art shows must bolster your motivation. Creativity in a void with no likelihood of sharing with others is quite discouraging.
