The Sunday Five: Rolls Royce

This Rolls Royce was parked in front of TJ Max (TK Max in GB) at the Potomac Yard shopping plaza in Alexandria a few days ago.

1: How would you describe the person who is most likely to drive this car?

2: Is there anything you would change about this car, if it was yours?

3: How would you feel about driving this car for an afternoon?

4: If you had billions, would you own one of these?

5: What US state do you imagine this car is registered in?

My Answers:

1: How would you describe the person who is most likely to drive this car?  The person has a very big ego and wants to be noticed.

2: Is there anything you would change about this car, if it was yours? The grill and flying lady, should always be bright shiny chrome on a Rolls, it is a crime to do them in black.

3: How would you feel about driving this car for an afternoon? I have always wanted to drive or ride in a Rolls, just for an afternoon.

4: If you had billions, would you own one of these? No, I would own something reliable and unremarkable.

5: What US state do you imagine this car is registered in?  I know the answer, I was surprised, the car is a very long way from home.

Please share your answers in the comments.

  1. 1: How would you describe the person who is most likely to drive this car? The chauffeur.
2: Is there anything you would change about this car, if it was yours? Not sure - I don't know enough about them.
3: How would you feel about driving this car for an afternoon? Might be nice for a touring saloon. I'd be curious to drive it just to explore the bells and whistles, but would also be nervous as all get out being around other cars and trucks.
4: If you had billions, would you own one of these? Probably not. I actually enjoy the fact that there are people who do enjoy these and I get to look at them without getting tangled up in the maintenance. If I were a billionaire, I'd really like the Mercedes-Benz W189 300d aka the Adenauer in production from 1957-1962.
5: What US state do you imagine this car is registered in? In these parts, these are typically registered in Nevada or Oregon as a tax dodge based on those states' flat rate registration fees (California's fees are based on a percentage of 'book value').

    1. I like the idea of racing stripes. Only one demented individual thinks of Canada as the 51st state.
